AH, I love that you will not give an inch on your 606 strategy. Totally classified!
As usual, I really enjoy reading your strategy guides. One thing I might add is that an offensive engineer can be quite a lot of fun. Once your opponent has decided to ignore the half of the map with the turret wall I really like to sneak the engineer right up to his base and build a turret. Surprise!

Haha, 17th Guards vs. 606: That is my favorite strategy too! 😉

My favorite topic you mentioned here is the Deployment order. ReconInForce is a strategy game that doesn’t enforce tiers or tech. However, more experienced players will still understand and appreciate the resource of time. They can predict how to deploy their forces so they engage the enemy with all their own troops simultaneously. I think that a good commander treats the elements of their army as one whole; either they are all attacking or they are all maneuvering. For example, if they choose a poor deployment order then some of their force will be moving while the remainder are attacking; and this lack of cohesion will essentially give your opponent strength in numbers.
Your topic of Targeting is sort of the same thing. Just like true warfare, ReconInForce is a struggle of players attempting to maximize destructive efficiency at key times and locations. Often that means committing no more and no less resources than what is required to win each individual battle.

Good suggestions, I agree that the Iron Raiders needs a touch up. I would like to implement those suggestions in the next update but there are a few technical limitations. Because ReconInForce does not demand players share the same version of the game I can’t add any new units or abilities because the player with the older version would not know how to interpret the new content. Tweaking stats and moving existing content is possible though! I could swap in the Mortar Carrier to the Iron Raiders but I have to think more about which unit it would replace. We could also move the “Unload Grunts” to the LAV (or IFV) but that would essentially just transform the LAV into a Grunts instead of spawning a new unit next to the LAV.
Allowing the Heavy Tank to shoot through smoke seems game breakingly powerful, especially with the range it has.
Another thing to consider is swapping in the Flame Tank to fulfil more of an “anti-infantry” role with the Iron Raiders. Also the Flame Tank could use a one tile increase in range because I think it is under-utilized by players.
A final roster of the Iron Raiders might look like this:
-Flame Tank
-Suppy Truck
-Transport
-Heavy Tank
-Armored Scout
-Mortar CarrierWhat are your thoughts on these changes plus some tweaks that improved the individual units?

Someday I’ll have to hear more about your infamous 606 blitz strategy! Until then, these are some really good tips for the community. Thanks for posting 😉

Forgot to ask; would the community rather see a replay functionality or a map builder feature? At the moment both are being evaluated to see if they are feasible!

Replays are something that could potentially be added to the game in a future update; ideally players could share replays with each other as well through email. It would be great to have for tournament play; where players could submit official replays for review…

2v2 mode! That would be awesome.

Hello Guerilla, thanks for the posts! In the next version of ReconInForce you will find a local multiplayer save function. It’s unintuitive, but to resume a local multiplayer game you can navigate into the Single Player menu and just tap “Continue”.
Unfortunately, the game engine optimizes sound effects in a way that does not allow the volume to be adjusted. The only option is to adjust the music volume in the settings menu all the way to 100% and then adjust the volume of the device down using the buttons on side.

Pretty good assessment of the player base at the moment!
Most of the games I play are on the developer servers for Game Center, since my testers and I are playing on one version ahead of the community. That is a totally different leaderboard for testing.
I play against fans on request on the true Game Center servers, but for the most part I try and stay out of the way. I often reset my leaderboard position back to zero for testing purposes.
